Each month our newsletter will feature a story of what gave hope to an individual going through a breast cancer journey as illustrated in our 2011 Year of Hope Calendar
April 2011 Story of Hope - Doctors
Quality medical professionals and technological advancements gave me hope. The phone call came and time stood still. But, from the moment I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on the lump in my left breast to the amazing surgeon that found the lump in my right breast, I was surrounded with quality professionals who cared and leveraged every available technological advance. Testing showed me how effective chemo would be for my stage and type of cancers. Genetic testing showed my risk for other related cancers. Time after time, the care and attention I received before, during, and after my surgeries and treatment all gave me hope that I would make it through this. And I did. - Stephanie
