RACE INFORMATION & REGISTRATION
Enjoy a scenic run along Lake Minnetonka’s LRT Regional Trail in Excelsior’s “Run by the Bay 5K” run/walk Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Registration fee of $25.00 includes race day technical t-shirt and post-race refreshments, with all proceeds benefiting Hope Chest for Breast Cancer of Orono/Navarre.
In conjunction with the race, consider joining other local runners in a
10-week course of training and education (beginning April 4th through race day). Registration for the 10-week training ($65) includes Excelsior “Run by the Bay 5K” race day registration, technical t-shirt, 7:00 am group runs each Saturday, followed by mini lectures and refreshments.
Training topics include, but are not limited to:
Initiating and maintaining independent running/training programs
Purchasing appropriate running shoes for personal gait/orthotic-needs
Pre and post-training nutrition and supplementation
Heart rate zones/use of heart rate monitors
Core training exercise instruction
Treatment and prevention of injuries associated with running
Race day nutrition
Proper stretching for improved flexibility
Fees: $25 race registration or $65 race registration plus training program
