HOPE CHEST FOR BREAST CANCER FUNDS COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS AT LOCAL HOSPITALS
The Hope Chest for Breast Cancer is proud to continue our Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Emergency Assistance Programs at twin city hospitals. We have provided $70,000 in total funds to the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center, Hennepin County Medical Center, the Breast Health Center at Regions Hospital and the Breast Center at Ridgeview Medical Center. By collaborating with the hospitals that serve a majority of our most vulnerable populations, we are ensuring that the Hope Chest programs are easy to access and available to the patients who most need them. We are also continuing our support of the Hope Chest Breast Center of North Memorial and our programs at the Angel Foundation. |

March is upon us, and hopefully, the snow will melt soon! The harsh weather has a tendency to slow the donation process a bit, but don't let that stop you from calling us! Our pickup teams will trudge through ice and snow with a smile to retrieve your donations. There are a few facts that separate us from most organizations that we felt you should know...
Did you know that the money our stores raise provide funds for programs locally?
Did you know we have weekend specials?
Did you know we keep a wish book for anyone searching for something specific?
Did you know we use recycled shopping bags? We are always in need of them!
Did you know we pick up furniture free of charge and can come within days of when you call?
Did you know when you donate you receive an itemized list of all items donated for tax purposes?
We have so much more to tell you that makes us special...but we'll save that for next month! In the meantime, think of us when ready to donate your home dйcor, furniture, new children's items, garden dйcor, and women's clothing! You'll feel so great to know you're helping someone right here in your community. About Hope Chest:
Our mission at Hope Chest for Breast Cancer® is to help underserved women and their families touched by breast cancer.
How do we raise funds?
Through the sale of donated, upscale furniture, accessories, and designer women's clothing at our Retail Stores; through our Foundation fundraising events and programs; and through financial donations.
How do we help?
Emergency Funds that provide rent, utilities, transportation, etc., to underserved women who are unable to work due to the side effects of breast cancer treatment; Delivered Nutritional Meals for underserved women and their families during breast cancer treatment; and Early Detection Education and Screening for underserved women with a focus on diverse populations.
Our founder, Barbara Hensley, survives two sisters who lost their battle with breast cancer. In 2001, Barbara resigned her corporate executive position and founded the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer where she drives our commitment to make a difference.
Currently there are 2 retail stores of donated merchandise in the Twin Cities located at:
3850 Shoreline Drive in the Orono/Navarre area (952-471-8700) and 571 Snelling N. (651-642-2850) in St. Paul.
Store Hours: Monday-Saturday 10 -6; Sunday: 11:30 to 5. (Orono now open till 8 pm Thurs & opens 11 am Sunday)
The stores are registered with the State of Minnesota as professional fundraisers.
